Overview & Applications

Replacement polyurethane discs are the primary sealing elements on disc type and multi disc steel mandrel pigs. Unlike cups, discs seal bidirectionally, which makes them the standard choice for displacement, dewatering, and product separation applications where the pig may travel in either direction. All disc types are available in sizes 2" through 48".

Routine replacement of worn discs on BGD displacement pigs and MD or MDB multi disc pigs
Upgrading elastomer material for chemical compatibility or temperature service
Adding guide or sealing discs to existing pig bodies for enhanced stability or sealing
Replacing steel spool spacers with polyurethane spacer discs on multi element pig configurations
Compatible with Pigs Unlimited pig series and pigs manufactured by others

Available Types

Standard Scraper Discs2"–14" center rod, 16"–48" bolting pattern	The standard flat disc used on BGD-2 and BGD-4 displacement pigs, sealing bidirectionally. Standard 80 Shore A polyurethane, with other elastomers available.
MD Guide Discs	Front and rear stabilization discs for MD and MDB multi disc pigs, keeping the pig centered in the bore during travel. Can also be added to any steel pig for additional support.
MD Sealing Discs	Primary product separation barriers in the MD and MDB disc arrangement. Can be added to any steel pig to increase sealing capability beyond the standard configuration.
MD Spacer Discs	Maintain correct spacing between guide and sealing discs. Can substitute for steel spool spacers on any multi element cup or disc pig configuration.
Slotted Dual-Diameter Discs	Slotted polyurethane discs for dual diameter, multi diameter, and varying internal diameter piping. Flex to maintain sealing contact as the pig transitions between different bore sizes.

Available Options

Elastomer compounds: polyurethane as standard at 80 Shore A, plus neoprene, viton, EPDM, and Buna-N
Varying durometers for different sealing and flexibility requirements
Custom dimensions for non standard pig bodies or special pigging applications
