Dynamic Filter Efficiency — performance validated under real operating conditions with cyclic flow testing per ISO 23369.
DFE Rated Elements
Overview
DFE testing per ISO 23369 evaluates filter elements under cyclic flow conditions that simulate actual system transients, measuring both particle capture and retention efficiency. Unlike static multipass testing (ISO 16889), DFE quantifies how well elements maintain cleanliness targets when subjected to valve shifts, pump surges, and flow reversals.
Performance Characteristics
β₃[C] ≥ 4000 capture efficiency maintained under dynamic flow cycling per ISO 23369
Retention efficiency tested at 115% of rated flow with cyclic pressure pulses to verify particles are not released downstream during transients
Dualglass™ media construction combines fine glass fibers for capture efficiency with coarse support layers for structural integrity
Typical clean pressure drop of 0.5–1.5 bar at rated flow depending on viscosity and element size
Media Technology
Inorganic glass microfiber media resists degradation from water, oxidation byproducts, and synthetic fluids
Progressive pore structure provides depth filtration with high dirt-holding capacity (typically 15–25 g/element depending on size)
Epoxy-bonded end caps and bypass-resistant sealing prevent unfiltered fluid passage
Compatible with mineral oils, PAO synthetics, phosphate esters, and HEES/HETG biodegradable fluids
Applications
Servo valve protection in injection molding, die casting, and CNC hydraulics
Turbine lube oil systems requiring ISO 16/14/11 or cleaner
High-pressure hydraulic systems (up to 420 bar operating) with frequent directional changes
Mobile equipment subject to shock loading and vibration
