Overview & Applications

Gauging plates are rigid discs mounted to a pig body to verify pipe roundness and detect internal obstructions. When the plate passes through a pipeline section, any dents, deformations, weld penetrations, or debris that deflect or deform the plate are recorded for inspection. All gauging plates are machined to customer specifications with tight tolerances.

Applications

Pre-commissioning runs to confirm minimum bore clearance before introducing product or running intelligent inspection tools
Detecting dents, buckles, and weld penetrations in new or existing pipelines
Proving pipe roundness prior to intelligent pig runs
Identifying debris or obstructions that could damage or trap a pig
Can be fitted to most steel mandrel pig series, including batching, displacement, brush, multi disc, and conical cup

Available Types

Aluminum1/8", 1/4" standard, 3/8", 1/2"	Lightweight and easy to inspect for deformation after a run. Machined from high grade aluminum stock to customer specifications with low tolerances. Slotted versions available for increased deflection sensitivity.
Steel1/8", 1/4" standard, 3/8", 1/2"	Higher rigidity for applications requiring a stiffer plate. Machined from high grade steel stock to customer specifications with low tolerances. Slotted versions available.

Thickness in 1/8", 1/4" as standard, 3/8", or 1/2"
Custom OD and dimensions for non standard pig bodies or special applications
