Pressure differential testing is a crucial procedure in cleanroom environments, particularly for facilities adhering to the rigorous standards outlined in USP 797, USP 800, USP 825, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Measuring Pressure Differentials with Precision

To assess pressure differentials between various cleanroom areas, Filtech utilizes digital anemometers, notably the TSI 9565P instruments. These digital anemometers provide highly accurate measurements, allowing us to meet and exceed industry requirements.

Stringent Pressure Differential Requirements

Cleanrooms typically have specific pressure differential requirements to maintain controlled airflow and prevent cross-contamination. These requirements include:

1. USP 797 IV to Ante Room: The pressure differential between the Intravenous (IV) room and the Anteroom must be 0.02 inches of water gauge (w.g.) or greater.

2. USP 800 HD to Ante Room: In Hazardous-Drug (HD) areas to the Anteroom, the pressure differential range is between -0.01 inches w.g. and -0.03 inches w.g.

3. Anteroom to General Pharmacy: The Anteroom to General Pharmacy must maintain a pressure differential of 0.02 inches w.g. or greater.

4. HD Storage Room: For the HD storage room, it is required to maintain a negative pressure, with a recommended range of -0.01 inches w.g. or greater.

Verifying Pressure Differentials with Smoke

As part of the pressure differential testing process, Filtech employs smoke testing to verify and validate the airflow patterns and pressure differentials within cleanrooms.
